Working with the new portal

If you activated the DevStart feature, you can view the default main page that was specified in the session initialization settings. In the Portal Manager, select Farm Configuration > Other Portals (on-premises) or Environment Configuration > Other Portals (cloud). Select the portal name and click the Browse Portal link.

There is no content, so the page is not usable. To begin creating content, launch the Page, Layout, and FDF editors in the Content Development area of the Portal Manager for the empty portal.

If you did not activate the DevStart feature, you must use the Page Editor to build the default pages you specified for session initialization. After these pages are built, you can use the Browse Portal link in the Portal Manager to view the main page, and use the editors to continue creating content.

Whether or not the DevStart feature is active, you can copy components from the Dev Tools content in the Portal Manager to use in your empty portal.
