Setting Up a Service Order Invoice Milestone
- Open the Service Order Operations form.
- Add a new record or filter for an existing record for which you want to set up an invoice milestone.
- Ensure that Project/Fixed is selected as the Billing Type.
- Select Use Invoice Milestones.

Click Invoice Milestones to open the
Service Order Invoice Milestones form.
The SRO, line, and operation are displayed in the grid.
Note: You can open the Service Order Invoice Milestones form stand-alone and filter for a service order, line, and operation. In most cases, you will open the form from the Service Order Operations form. -
In the Milestone Requirement field,
select the requirement type that you want to use for the invoice milestone:
- Date
- Total Cost Amount
- Percentage of Total Planned Cost Complete
- Percentage of Total Estimate Cost Complete
- If you selected Date, select the Milestone Requirement Date.
- If you selected Total Cost Amount, Percentage of Total Planned Cost Complete, or Percentage of Total Estimate Cost Complete, specify the Milestone Requirement Amount. This is the total amount or the percentage of the cost that you want to reach before invoicing.

Specify this information:
- Milestone Calculation Method
- Select the method you want to use to calculate the milestone:
- Fixed Amount
- Percentage of Total Price
- Percentage of Total Cost Amount
- Percentage of Total Planned Cost Complete
- Percentage of Total Estimate Cost Complete
- Milestone Calculation Amount
- Specify the fixed amount or percentage to use when calculating the milestone.
- Milestone Amount
- This read-only field shows the amount to be invoiced based on the selected calculation method and amount. This field shows an amount after the milestone record has been saved.
- Save the record. The remaining fields are populated based on the service order and new milestone specifications.
The Milestone Totals fields show the amounts that are open, ready to be processed, invoiced, and the total.
When you are ready to invoice, click Order Invoicing to open the Order Invoicing form.
