Invoicing Customers for Service Work
Each transaction entered on an SRO is given a price. The price is defaulted based on whether the work is done under a service contract, warranty, at cost, or at list price to the customer.
Each operation on an SRO has a billing type: either Project/Fixed or Calculated/Time & Material. If the operation is Project billed, the price of the individual transactions is ignored and the price from the SRO operation is used. If the operation is Calculated, the price of each individual transaction is used to determine a final invoice amount for the customer. Use the Service Order To Be Invoiced Report to determine what will be billed to the customer the next time SRO invoices are processed. During SRO invoicing, A/R invoice records are created in the Service Management Accounts Receivable module. In addition, customer payments for SRO invoices can be handled from the Service Management Customer Payments form.
Follow these steps to complete invoicing:
- On the Billing tab of the Service Order To Be Invoiced Report, ensure the Operation Status for operations ready to be invoiced is set to Invoice.
- Run the report and confirm the output.
- Run Service Order Invoicing to generate and print the invoice.
