Sales Order Creation from an Incident
You can quickly create a sales order using the cross-reference functionality from an incident. The information obtained on the Incidents form is used to populate the Sales Orders form header fields and line.
To see this functionality in action, create and save an incident on the Incidents form. You must assign a customer. Set the Reference type value to Sales Order and click . The customer from the incident is assigned to the Sales Order form. If an item or unit is assigned on the incident, then a sales order line for that item or unit is created. Other fields are populated as follows:
- The Taken By value is set to the SSR of the incident.
- The Entered date is set to the system date.
- The Status, Order Type, and Warehouse fields have default values, as if the order were created manually.
- The Salesperson, Price Code, Terms Code, Billing Manager, and other customer-specific values default appropriately.
Sales Order Creation from an Incident Event
You can quickly create a sales order using the cross-reference functionality from an event. The information obtained from both the incident and event is used to populate the Sales Order form header fields and line.
To see this functionality in action, create and save an incident. Set the Xref Type value to Sales Order and click . The values on the new sales order are set as described above for sales orders created from incidents.
Incident Quick Creation
You can use the Incident Quick Create utility to create an incident. This form is intended to prompt for the minimum information most commonly gathered when creating an incident. You can also call this form from the Incident Queue Console.
The Incident Quick Create form has a button located next to the Customer field, which when clicked opens the Quick Customer Create form.
Quick Customer Creation
You can use the Quick Customer Create utility to create a customer. This form is intended to prompt for the minimum information most commonly gathered when creating a new customer.
