Using ION authentication with the Mobile App

Before you can use ION authentication with the Mobile App, your system administrator must configure your account with the correct security roles in Infor OS Portal or Infor Ming.le. See the Infor Service Management Configuration Guide.

Note: If your Service Management is deployed on-premises, you must toggle the ION Authentication off to access the Mongoose configuration settings panel and to connect to Service Management using the Mongoose framework.

Aside from using the Mongoose framework to authenticate Mobile App user credentials, Mobile App users can use the ION API gateway to authenticate and communicate with Service Management. By using ION authentication, instead of manually entering the configuration settings in the Mobile App, you can scan a QR code, which your system administrator must provide. For information about generating the QR code for Mobile App ION authentication, see the Infor Service Management Configuration Guide.

  1. Open the Service Management Mobile App.
  2. On the Sign In screen, enable ION Authentication.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Select Scan Configuration QR Code.
  5. If you are prompted to allow camera access, select Allow.
  6. Using the camera, scan the QR code provided to you by your system administrator.
If scanning is successful, the Config Group field on the Settings screen is populated.
  7. Select Done.
  8. Select Sign In.
  9. To sign-in using Cloud Identities:
    1. Select Cloud Identities.
    2. Specify this information:
      USERNAME
Specify your Cloud Identities user name.
      PASSWORD
      Specify your Cloud Identities password.
    3. Select Sign In.
Alternatively, to sign-in using AzureAD STS, select AzureAD STS.
  10. If you are prompted to allow access to Infor Cloudsuite, tap Allow.
  11. If you are using a multi-site configuration, select a configuration to connect to.
Note: ION tokens expire after two hours and are automatically refreshed. If the device is offline when the tokens are refreshed, new mobile activities are queued up as Pending Submissions. You can resubmit these activities once connectivity is re-established.

When your user credentials are changed, you can use the Reset/Forgot Password in ION to update your password. After you reset your password, you must close and reopen the Mobile App to sign-in.
