Generating Reports
To generate a report means to output it to a printer, or to an email recipient. When you click the
button on a report form, you generate the report. In most cases, we recommend previewing the report before generating it. This gives you a chance to see what the output will look like and make any necessary changes before actually outputting the report.
When you generate a report, the report is sent to the background task queue, where it is then routed to the report generator. From there, it is routed either to a printer, or to an email recipient, depending on the options for that report as set on the Report Options form.
Note: When a specific report has
associated profiles on the Customer Document Profile form, and that
same report also has a configured printing option on the Report
Options form, the report output is generated based only on the associated
customer document profiles.
