Initiating the synchronization process with the Sync Process UI

  1. Open the folder where you installed the setup files.
  2. Launch the Sync Process UI using the ExchangeSyncUI.exe file.
The Infor Service Management Exchange Sync Process screen is displayed.
  3. Click Start to launch the Sync Process Background Task.
A status message is displayed from the background task. All messages are also written into a text file that is stored in the Log folder.
  4. If you did not previously complete the configuration, the status log shows a message that the setup is incomplete.
  5. Follow the steps in the status log to set IDO permissions.
  6. Open the Calendar Sync Users form in Service Management.
  7. Add Service Management users.
To synchronize the Service calendar associated with a user, specify a username. The EmailAddress and PartnerID fields are automatically populated.
Note: To automatically populate the EmailAddress and PartnerID fields, you must specify the primary email address of the user using the Users form, and then map the user to a partner using the Partners form. See the online help for more information about using these forms.
  8. Return to the Infor Service Management Exchange Sync Process screen and restart the background task.
If you receive errors during the initiation, follow the prompts in the status log, then click Start after you fix the errors to continue in the process.

When you want to stop the background task from running, click Terminate. Clicking Close will close the Infor Service Management Exchange Sync Process screen but will not stop the background task.

Once configured, you can also launch the Sync Process background task directly by using the ExchangeSync.exe file. Always use the Sync Process UI option to terminate the Sync Process background task. Terminating the background task using Windows Task Manager may cause an unexpected result.
