Customer Number Reassignment
Service Management allows for a customer associated to one
customer number to have its number reassigned to a different value throughout the system.
In a time where mergers and acquisitions are common place, the ability to consolidate
customers in this manner is highly beneficial.
Use the Customer Number Change Utility to select an existing customer number and specify the new customer number. The new customer number must not already exist in Service Management. Running the utility affects all history records, Ship Tos, units, pricing, contracts, and orders. The current A/R is transferred to the new number.
Note: Running this utility only
affects your current site. It must be run manually against all sites
when using a multi-site environment.
