Open the Fixed Asset Disposal form and turn off
Filter-in-Place.

Select the asset. The fields are populated based on the asset.

Specify the disposal amount.

Specify this information:
- Disposal Reason
- Select the reason for disposing of the asset:
- Customer
- Select the customer who is causing the disposal. This field
is only enabled if the disposal reason is customer loss.
- Warehouse
- Select the warehouse where the item will be located after
disposal. This field is only enabled if the disposal reason is sale.
- Location
- Select the location where the item will be located within the
warehouse. This field is only enabled if the disposal reason is sale.
- Lot
- Select the lot where the item will be located. This field is
only enabled if the disposal reason is sale and the item is lot tracked.

Save the record.

When you are ready to post the disposal, select to open the Disposal Posting
modal form.

Select
Display Report Header to
include the report headers on the report.

Click
Preview to view the
report output before printing.

Select
Print and click
Process to print the
output.

Select
Commit and click
Process to post the
disposal.
When you post disposals, these events occur:
- Disposal transactions are
posted to the Fixed Asset Distribution journal for each distribution.
- The status of each
processed asset is changed from active to disposed.
- The
Disposal Date and
Amount fields from the
disposal record are copied to the asset record.
- If applicable, the
associated unit is not longer tied to the unit.
- If the disposal reason is
customer loss, an A/R invoice is generated for the amount of the loss.
- If the disposal reason is
sale, the associated asset item is moved into inventory to be sold on a sales
order.
