Product Codes Overview
Product codes allow you to group similar types of items and assign each group an
identifying code.
For example, you could group items and assign codes to them as follows:

| EC | Dom Electronic Components for Domestic Use |
You can set up system-wide parameters that affect all items. Using product codes, you can override the system-wide parameters for a smaller subset of items. Price markups, discounts, General Ledger accounts, and exception message tolerance factors (used by MRP and APS) can all be set up by product code.
In addition, when you generate many reports, you can enter product codes as selection criteria.
Note: The user must have authorization granted to create product codes.
