Creating a User-Defined Journal

  1. Open the Journals form.
  2. Select Actions > New.
  3. Specify a unique journal ID of up to 10 alphanumeric characters.
  4. Specify a description of the journal.

    This description is displayed for the journal in selection lists.

  5. Select the Analytical Ledger check box to create a journal that posts to the Analytical Ledger.
  6. Clear the Analytical Ledger check box to create a journal that posts to the General Ledger.
    Note: The Analytical Ledger check box is available only if the Use Analytical Ledger check box is selected on the General Parameters form.
  7. Save the record.

After you have created a user-defined journal, you can enter transactions for it using the Journal Entries form.
