Adding a Purchase Order Requisition Line

  1. On the Purchase Order Requisition Lines form, filter for the requisition for which you want to add a new line.
  2. This information is displayed for the requisition:
    Date
    The date on which the requisition was made is displayed.
    Status
    The status of the requisition is displayed:
    • Requested: The default value for new requisitions.
    • Converted: A purchase order has been created through the Convert Purchase Order Requisitions utility.
    • History: You no longer wish to update this record and all the lines have a status of History.
    Requisition Cost
    The cost for the current requisition is displayed. The currency for the current vendor is displayed.
  3. Select Actions > New. The next sequential line number is populated. Optionally, select a different number to use.
  4. Specify this information for the new line:
    Item
    Select the item number for the item to requisition. A description of the item is displayed.
    Due Date
    Select the date that the line is due to be received. A line should be received by this date, or it is considered past due.
    Requisition Code
    Select the requisition code to associate with this purchase requisition. A description of the code is displayed.
    Warehouse
    The current warehouse is displayed by default. Optionally, select a different warehouse to use for the line.
    Ordered
    Specify the quantity of the item to order. The unit of measure is displayed.
  5. On the General tab, accept the default values or specify this information:
    Vendor
    The vendor number is displayed if a Vendor Item Cross Reference has been set up for the requisitioned item. Optionally, select a different vendor. The name of the vendor is displayed.
    Buyer
    The buyer set up for the item is displayed. Optionally, select another person to be responsible for this requisition.
    Account
    If the item is not defined on the Items form, specify an account number to use as the debit account for posting as the items are received. The unit codes and description are displayed for the account.
    Origin Reference
    The origin reference is made of four parts: reference type, number, line number, and release number. In the first field, select the reference type:
    • Inventory: The item is being purchased so that it can be placed in inventory.
    • SRO: The item is being purchased to satisfy a sales order requirement.
    • Transfer: The item is being purchased for a transfer.
    • Incident: The item is being purchased for a Incident.
    • Incident Event: The item is being purchased for a Incident Event.
    In the second field, specify the reference number:
    • If the reference type is Inventory, leave this field blank.
    • If the reference type is SRO, specify the SRO number.
    • If the reference type is Transfer, specify the transfer number.
    • If the reference type is Incident, specify the incident number.
    In the third field, specify the reference line number for types SRO and Transfer.
    • If the reference type is SRO, specify the SRO line number.
    • If the reference type is Transfer, specify the transfer order line item number.
    In the fourth field, specify the reference release number for type SRO. This number is the SRO operation number.
    PO
    The purchase order number, line, and release of the PO generated from this requisition are displayed.
    Quoted
    Select this check box if the vendor has given a quote for the item.
    Plan Cost
    The plan cost is displayed from the Items form. If you entered a vendor number, and if that vendor number is linked to this item through a vendor item cross reference, the system uses the costs defined on the Vendor Item Cross Reference form instead.
    Plan Extended Cost
    The extended cost for the line item is displayed.
  6. On the Costs tab, specify the price to pay for each portion of the item on a per-item basis:
    • Material
    • Freight
    • Duty
    • Brokerage

    The total is displayed in the Plan Cost field.

  7. Save the record.

Click PO Req to open the Purchase Order Requisitions form.
