Exporting portal components

You can export only content from your current editable content version.

  1. In the Portal Manager, select Content Development > Export Components. All folders are displayed, but only your locked components are included in them. To see components locked by all users, select Show All Locked Components.
  2. Select Check in changes and export.
Note: The Export last checked-in version option is used to export the previous content version, before you made changes. This is useful if you need the previous version for a different portal.
  3. Select the check box next to each type of component to export. You can expand the folders to select individual components.
  4. Specify the target folder to which to export the components. This is the root folder where you will store modified portal content, for example C:\Infor Portals. Even if you have selected only one component to export, you should specify the root folder. Otherwise the entire folder structure will be built again inside of any other folder you select.
  5. Click Export. A summary form is displayed, showing the components you have chosen to export. You have these options:
    • To save the summary information to a file, right-click the form and then select Save to File.
    • To change your selections, click Cancel and make your selections again.
    • To add a comment, type in the Comment area.
    • To start the process, click Start. Your content is exported to the backup folder. You can see export progress on the progress bar and status in the log display at the bottom of the form. If you need to cancel the process, click Cancel on the progress bar.

When you export components after modifying a portal, and if no additional modification is needed, you can close the content version. See Closing a content version for development. Also, if you use a source control system, you can check-in the exported content.
