Setting up portal administrative user accounts in Azure AD

User accounts created for portal configuration and administration also must have a record in Azure AD. These are the PortalPreLogin and portal administrator users described in the portal installation guide. They should be set up as regular new user records, not guest users, in Azure AD. Make note of the auto-generated passwords for these users.

Refer to the Azure AD documentation for information about setting up regular users. They are referred to as cloud-based users.

If the Portal Data Administrator user has network credentials, this user can be set up as a guest user and added to the Portal Data Admin group in Azure AD. This administrative user does not have to be set up as a regular user with an auto-generated password. The SL_Internal user does not have to be set up in Azure AD.
