About this guide

Infor portals built on Infor Portal Foundation (IPF) versions earlier than 4.x use SharePoint lists and libraries to store content. IPF 4.x stores content in Microsoft SQL Server database tables. This guide provides instructions for migrating custom portal content from IPF 3.1 to IPF 4.x.

Custom portal content includes:

  • Collection definitions
  • Feature dependencies
  • Field display formats (FDFs)
  • Layouts
  • Style families
  • Site pages
  • Site assets, such as images, audio, and style sheet files used for site pages
  • Help assets

The guide also explains how to migrate custom announcements for the Infor Service Management portal, or all custom knowledge content for the portals, from earlier IPF versions to IPF 4.x.

portals custom knowledge content includes:

  • Announcements
  • FAQs
  • Press releases
  • Videos
  • White papers
Note: If you did not add custom portal content or maintain knowledge content in your SharePoint-based Infor portals, you do not need to perform the migration tasks in this document.
