Performing custom content migration

This migration process begins with exporting custom portal content to a temporary directory and then importing that content into the new portal.

Note:  For migration of site pages, the import works only on IPF Installed Site Pages with one Web part.
  1. Open the Portal Manager for IPF 3.1 portals and log in to the portal for which to export content.
  2. Select Content Management > Export, filter on your originator to find custom content, and then export the custom content.
  3. Launch the Portal Manager for the IPF 4.x configured portal for which to import content.
  4. Select Content Development > Import Components and import the desired custom content.
  5. For portals, add and activate the custom content features other than Default, if applicable. (This does not apply to the Infor Service Management portal.)
    1. Select Content Development > Content Versions.
    2. Select the custom content version and click Edit.
    3. Next to the Features area, click New.
    4. Specify a feature to add.
    5. Click Save.
    6. Select Portal Configuration > Content Activation.
    7. Click Refresh. The added feature is displayed under the custom content originator.
    8. Select the Active check box for the feature and click Save.
  6. If you have imported site pages that contain MasterPanel or MasterPage FDFs, you must set styles for the pages. Also you must set styles for the body component of the page. This is the area that shows the main page content. See Limitations of site page migration for more information.
  7. Some application-specific components that you may have been using with IPF 3.1 are not included with the IPF 4.x architecture. You must manually migrate these components, if any were used. A list is provided in Components removed from IPF content on page 20.
  8. Export migrated content for back up and to unlock components.
  9. When no further development is needed on this content, you can close the content for development. See the topic about personalizing the portals in your IPF 4.x portal administration guide.
