IPFEmbeddedDocument formatter

This formatter embeds documents so they can be displayed on the portal page. The data value must be an Adobe PDF file of type IPFDocumentI. The formatter requires the use of a PDF browser plugin. Specify the width and height of the document frame.

If users view a field formatted with this formatter but do not have a PDF viewer plug-in installed on their browser, they see the official Adobe logo:

When they click the logo, it opens a page where the user can download Adobe Reader.

If you specify a string ID or literal value in the No PDF Support Message field, the text is translated (if the data source can translate it) and is displayed above the logo. If no message is specified, the logo is displayed by itself.

All browsers support the functionality described here. There is no fallback functionality for specific browsers. This table shows how the field is displayed with and without formatting:

Before formatting

After formatting

Unformatted, displaying the file name only:

SharePoint_Integration.pdf

Set No PDF Support Message to Please download the plug-in below

Set Width to 700 and Height to 400

Unformatted, displaying the same file name, but this time the browser does not have the PDF plug-in installed:

SharePoint_Integration.pdf

Set Width to 700 and Height to 400

Notice the dotted frame, which indicates where the PDF would have been displayed.
