Prerequisites

This section explains prerequisites for creating an empty portal. If you have installed and configured any of the IPF portals, most of these requirements exist and can be used for the empty portal.

User accounts

Before you can create an empty portal, these user accounts must exist in the Infor back office application:

  • Configuration user account; typically SL_Internal. For cloud customers, this user is set up by the Infor cloud team.
  • Pre-login user account; must be PortalPreLogin. For cloud customers, this user is set up by the Infor cloud team.
  • Portal administrator account in the authenticator data source.

IPF installation

This does not apply to cloud customers.

IPF must be installed according to the instructions in the portal installation guide. Also, you may need to complete farm configuration tasks provided in that guide, such as registering load balancers, adding servers to the farm, importing digital certificates, and registering host names. However, if you are creating the new portal for test or development purposes, you can skip farm configuration and just use the default farm.

Authenticator data source

To create an empty portal, you need only an authenticator data source. The authenticator data source is needed to give at least one user account the ability to log in to the Portal Manager. This is an Infor back office data source. For cloud customers, this user is set up by the Infor cloud team.
