Authorizing Open Warranty Claims

You can authorize a claim in one of these ways on the Warranty Claims Authorizations form:

  1. To authorize all the warranty claims, click Authorize All, then click Process.
  2. To authorize individual warranty claims, specify Authorize in the Action field, and click Process.

After authorizing a claim, the system performs these actions:

  • Creates a new service order with these specifications:
    • Uses the SRO template specified on the Warranty Claims Authorizations form.
    • Uses the prefix from the specified SRO type.
    • Specifies the Amount Authorized on the Warranty Claim tab of the Service Order Lines form.
  • Updates the record on the Incidents form with this information:
    • Specifies the amount authorized.
    • Specifies the current user name in the Approved/Rejected By field.
    • Changes the incident reference to the new SRO.
    • Changes the Working Status to Warranty Authorized Status.
