Form Wizard

Use this form to provide the specifications to create a new form using the Web Designer. This form is accessible by selecting Form > Definition > New, or by clicking the New Form Definition icon on the toolbar.

When you create a form in the Web Designer, you have two basic options for creating it:

Create a new form: This option allows you to create a totally new form. However, you are limited in the Web Designer to creating “Build From Scratch” forms.
After you select this option and click Next, this form displays a page that requires you to provide this information:
- Specify a name for the new form (Name field).
  You can either type a completely new form name in this field or select the name of an existing form.
  Caution:
  If you select the name of an existing form and create the new form, all existing components and data previously included in that form’s template are deleted and you are presented with an entirely blank form.
- Optionally, specify a Device Type.
- From the Data Source drop-down list, select the IDO collection that is be the data source for the new form.
Extend an existing form: This option allows you to create a form that is based on an existing form. In this case, your new form starts as a clone of the original form.
When you specify the form to extend (Base Form Name), this form automatically suggests a Description, which you can then alter to your preference.
