Deployment

The Deployment form is used primarily to create deployable zip packages for Mongoose-based applications or applets and to deploy the packages in the target systems.

Note: You can use this form to create and deploy applications that use XML scripts. To create and deploy applications that incorporate SQL scripts, you must use the Mongoose Deployment Scripting Utility.

You can also use the Deployment form, in conjunction with the Extension Bundles form, to create, modify, generate, download, and deploy extension bundles to Mongoose-based applications. Extension bundles are deployable zip packages consisting of different objects such as tables, IDOs, AES events, and forms.

This form has two main options:

  • Export using AccessAs and Object Prefix: When you click this option, these sections are displayed on the Detail view of the form:
    • Export Applet: Use this section in the source environment to specify the settings for the app scripts that will be created and packaged for deployment.
    • Deploy Applet: Use this section in the target environment to specify the configuration where you want to deploy the application, or to import a zip package for the app.
Note: You cannot import files if you are working in a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) environment.
  • Export using forms, selected items and referenced items: When you click this option, these sections are displayed on the Detail view of the form:
    • Available Forms and Selected Forms: Use theses sections to search, view, and select the forms and their corresponding referenced global objects for inclusion in deployable zip packages.
    • Output options: Use these options in the target environment to specify the location where you want to deploy or import the zip package.
Note: You cannot import files if you are working in a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) environment.
    • Extension Bundle Name field and extension bundling buttons: You can use these fields and buttons to add objects to extension bundles, view logs, and view extension bundles.
