Getting forms

When you "Get" a form, you retrieve a copy of the form without putting a lock on it or formally checking it out.

Note: Both getting and checking out a form overwrite any existing copies in the run-time database with the version currently in the master database. This means that you cannot make changes made to a "Get" version permanent, because you cannot check in a "Get" version, and any changes you have made are overwritten when you check it out.
  1. Open the Form Control form.
  2. In the Actions group box, select Get.
  3. Select the Forms tab.
  4. From the Master form name field, select the form you want to get.
  5. To verify that another user does not already have the form checked out, verify that the Locked by user field is blank.
Note: You can still get a form even if it is locked to another user.
