Synchronize Next Keys

Use the Synchronize Next Keys utility to synchronize the NextKeys table with the contents of the database tables that contain the key values. Synchronize Next Keys rebuilds only from local site data.

Note:  To prevent blocking, this utility should be run only when no other users are logged into the application database.

The grid on this form contains this information for each alphanumeric key that can have a prefix:

  • Full Column name: The clustered key table and column name. This takes the form of TableName.ColumnName
  • Table and Column: The names of the table and column where the key resides.
  • Sub Key: The value of any sub-keys.
  • Prefix: The alphanumeric string used as a prefixe with the key.
  • Last Value: The value of the last Next Key entry with that Prefix and Sub Key combination at the local site.

You can also use this form to perform these actions:

  • Access the Next Key Definitions form to define Next Key metadata for new tables and columns.
  • Purge extra Next Keys data.
