Object Authorization for Group

Use the Object Authorization for Group form to set up object-level privilege authorizations for a group of users. An object in this case is any of these types:

  • Form
  • IDO
  • File server

Any user authorizations granted to individuals override the group authorizations defined on this form.

These privileges can be granted or not granted for the group for a specified Object Type:

  • Delete: Users can delete objects or records.
    Note: This option is not available for IDO objects.
  • Edit: Users can edit objects or records.
  • Execute: Users can run the object, as applicable.
  • Insert: Users can insert objects or records into the collection.
    Note: This option is not available for IDO objects.
  • Read: Users can view information or data about objects or records.
  • Bulk Update: Users can perform a bulk update, such as multiple find-and-replace operations.
    Note: This option is not available for IDO objects.
  • Update: Users can make and save changes to existing objects or records.

To access this form, click Group Authorizations on the Groups form, or use the Explorer.

Note: If you are using sub-group functionality with this form, be aware that any sub-group authorizatons or component privileges should be created at the child group level and be built from the bottom up.
