Message Type

This field indicates the type of message in the audit log.

By default, the system generates these messages:

Message Type Message Description
1 User Login: This message indicates that the user logged in.
2 Open Form: This message indicates that the user opened a form.
3 Modify Form/Object: This message indicates that the user modified a form or object.

A user's change to a global persistent variable or other global object creates an entry in the audit log. Changes to form-level variables, object menus, and other form components create entries in the audit log as form changes. These object types are tracked: Form, Form Template, Component Class, Property Class Extension, Short-cut Menu, Variable, Validator, Script, String, and Filter.

4 Event Audit: This message indicates that the Application Event System performed audit logging from the Audit action type.
5 User Login Failure: This message indicates that a user login failure occurred.
6 User Logout: This message indicates that the user logged out.
10,000 and above Custom Message: The message description might be "Purchase Order Events", and then the log description might be, for example, "User Selected Costs Tab", indicating that the user selected the Costs tab on the Purchase Order Lines form.
