Using the FormSync Filter utility

You can use the FormSync Filter utility to retrieve a list of custom objects filtered by a combination of several filter parameters. Typically, this is the first procedure to perform when using any of the other FormSync utilities.

  1. Open the Utilities page of FormSync.
In the form version this is done by clicking Utilities on the main page. In the stand-alone version, this is done by selecting Utilities from the Tools menu.
  2. In the Configuration drop-down list, specify whether you wan to filter for custom objects in the Source configuration or the Target configuration.
If necessary, to select a configuration that is not already selected as the Source or Target in the Configuration drop-down list, click the Configurations button and specify the configuration you want in the FormSync Configurations page.
Note: In the stand-alone version, you also have the option to designate a temporary source table as the configuration. If you use this option, it does not matter whether you choose Source or Target from the list.
  3. Select the Scope Type for the level of customizations to retrieve.
    • If you select Group or User as the Scope Type, you can designate which group or user customizations to filter for.
    • To retrieve objects for all groups or users, leave the Group field or User field blank.
    • To retrieve objects for a single group or user, select a name from the Group or User list.
    • To retrieve objects for multiple groups or users with similar names, use the percent sign (%) as a wildcard character.

For example, to filter for all groups whose names begin with AP, type AP% in the Group field.

  4. Select the types of custom objects to retrieve.
    • To retrieve all objects of a selected type, clear the field to the right of the type.
    • To retrieve a single object, select an object name from the drop-down list.
    • To retrieve multiple objects with similar names, use the percent sign (%) as a wildcard character.

For example, in the field to the right of Scripts, to filter for all scripts whose names contain RMA, type %RMA%.

  5. To retrieve the list of custom objects, click Refresh List.
The Filter utility retrieves a list of all custom objects that meet the filter parameters.
