Adding a Purchase Order Header

  1. On the Purchase Orders form, select Actions > New.
  2. Specify this information:
    PO
Specify a purchase order number or accept the system-generated number after you save the record.
    Date
The current date is displayed by default. Optionally, select another date as the date of creation.
    Vendor PO
Specify the order number used internally by the vendor. This field is used when referring to the purchase transaction in conversations or correspondence with the vendor.
    PO Type
    Select Regular or Blanket.
    Warehouse
The current warehouse is displayed by default. Optionally, select a warehouse for the PO. This field identifies the warehouse where the purchased goods should be delivered. Changing this field also changes the drop ship to address if the Drop Ship To field is set to Warehouse.
    Vendor
Select the number of the vendor from whom the items are to be purchased. The vendor name and number of the vendor's last invoice are displayed.
Note: If you are integrated with Distribution SX.e, then the Vendor field is disabled after a purchase order is created.
    Terms
The vendor's default billing terms are displayed. Optionally, select different terms to use. A description of the terms is displayed.
    Ship Via
Select the mode of shipment to use for this PO. A description of the mode is displayed.
    LCR
Select a valid letter of credit number. This field is required if the LCR Required field is selected for this vendor on the Vendors form.
    Reference
Select the reference type to use for the PO and specify the values of the reference number, line, and release in the remaining three fields. An existing record must be specified, as the system validates the values entered. The values entered in the Reference fields are used by default for any purchase order lines added to the PO.
  3. Save the record.
