Serial Number Tracking

Serial tracking allows you to track the serial numbers of items as the items move through the system through inventory, receiving, and shipping transactions.

On the Inventory Parameters form, select the S/N Track check box to use serial tracking by default when adding new items. You can override the setting for a specific item with the S/N Track field on the Items form. On other forms, the S/N Track field is displayed.

If the item is designated as backflushed, this field is disabled.

Note: If the quantity in the Items form On Hand field is greater than zero, you cannot update any Lot or Serial fields for the displayed item.

Use the Serial Transactions form to review the movement of serials through the system.
