Setting Scheduling Parameters

  1. Open the Global Scheduling Parameters form.
  2. On the Main tab, specify this information:
    Assign Lead Partner
    Select this check box to assign the partner dispatched on an appointment as the lead partner of the SRO.
    Dispatch Event Code
    Select the code to use with an event when an appointment is linked to an incident.
    Partner Start Address
    Select the address to help the Map form determine the starting point when plotting a route.
    Partner End Address
    Select the address to help the Map form determine the ending point when plotting a route.
    Default Scheduling Method
    Select the method to use when entering a new appointment: Single-Day or Multi-Day.

    Suppress Scheduling Inventory Shortage Alerts
    Select this check box if you want to suppress the inventory shortage alert message. Clear this check box if you want the system to check for inventory shortages when scheduling is performed, and send an alert message if a shortage is detected.
  3. Specify this information related to the Scheduling Board:
    Display for Partner
    Select the method to use to display partner information.
    Header Date Format
    Select the format to use to display the date when the view mode is set to Partner/Days, Work Week, or Partner Day/Time.

  4. In the Dispatch Order section, specify the order of selection using the Field Order column and Required check boxes. You can mark each field as required if blank values are excluded.
  5. In the Location Source field, select the address that is associated with the appointment.
  6. On the Email tab, specify a template to use for the mail. Use the pound symbol (#) before and after the field property name to substitute values from the screen. Follow this example for the email template:

    Partner ID: #PartnerID# (#PartnerName#)

    Has been assigned to #RefType# #RefNum#: #Description#

    Appointment is scheduled for #ApptStartDate#

  7. On the Local Appointments tab, specify the parameters to use by default when searching for additional work:
    Auto Refresh
    Select this check box to perform a local appointments search each time a user selects a new appointment.
    Include Appointments
    Select this check box if you want the system to look for other work that is already scheduled with an appointment already created.
    Include Future Service
    Select this check box if you want the system to look for other service orders that have been created but have not been scheduled. If you select this check box, specify these additional parameters:
    • Select Unassigned Only to only search for future service orders that do no have a lead partner assigned.
    • Select Include Line if appointments are scheduled for each individual line on a service order.
    • Select Include Operation if appointments are scheduled for each individual operation on a service order line.
    Include Maintenance
    Select this check box if you want the system to run the Service Order Automatic Generation Utility and Contract SRO Generation Utility to search for maintenance SROs that have not yet been created.
    Days to Look Ahead
    Specify a number of days to look ahead for work.
    Region
    Select the region in which to look for work.
    SRO Type
    Select the SRO types to be included in the filter. For each type, click Add to add the type to the group box to be considered in the search. If this field is left blank, all SRO types are included.
    From Current Appointment
    Select the check boxes for the information you want to use from the current appointment when looking for other work.
  8. Save the parameters.
