Submitting a Warranty Claim

  1. Open the Warranty Claims Submittal form in one of these ways:
    • On the Service Orders form, filter for the service order associated with the warranty claim and click Submit Warranty Claim.
    • On the Warranty Claims Workbench form, select the warranty claim and click Submit Warranty Claim.
  2. This information is displayed in the header section:
    • SRO
    • Incident
    • Status
    • Bill Status
    • Customer number and name
    • Ship To number and name
    • SRO Type
  3. Optionally, in the Default Bill To field, select a customer to receive an invoice for the entire warranty claim.
  4. Optionally, select a customer in the Bill To Override field to override the Default Bill To and send just that operation to a different customer. Use this feature when there are multiple parties responsible for paying the claim.
  5. This information is displayed in the grid for the SRO:
    • Line number
    • Operation number
    • Unit
    • Item
    • Operation Code
    • Submittal Authorization Number
    • Submittal Authorization Amount
    • Bill Status
    • Ready to Invoice
    • Has Unposted Transaction
  6. Optionally, use these buttons to perform an action for the selected SRO operation:
    • Click Apply Bill Hold to select Bill Hold for the current operation.
    • Click Remove Bill Hold to clear Bill Hold for the current operation.
    • Click Set to Invoice to set the status to Invoice for the current operation.
    • Click Set to Open to set the status to Open for the current operation.
  7. The amounts displayed in the SRO Totals Breakout section are dynamically dependent on the mode: Price, Cost, or Margin. As each mode is selected, you are provided a detailed breakdown of amounts in various buckets.
  8. Save the record.

The Details tree shows line and operation details for the current SRO.

The Notes sections lists any notes associated with the current SRO.

Use the buttons in the header section as described here:

  • Click SROs to open the Service Orders form, filtered for the current SRO.
  • Click SRO Lines to open the Service Order Lines form, filtered for the current SRO.
  • Click SRO Operations to open the Service Order Operations form, filtered for the current SRO.
  • Click SRO Transactions to open the Service Order Transactions form, filtered for the current SRO.
  • Click Orders To Be Invoiced to open the Order To Be Invoiced Report, filtered for the current SRO.
  • Click Order Invoicing to open the Order Invoicing form, filtered for the current SRO.
  • Click Assign from Unit to default the Bill To Customer based on the customer number associated with the vendor of the unit on the service order line. See the Billing Customer field on the Vendors form for more information.
