Creating a String object

  1. Launch the Web Designer.
  2. Select Edit > String.
  3. Click the New (+) button.
  4. In the Name field, specify a name for the new String object.
We recommend that you create the String object as a translatable string, using the standard Mongoose string-naming guidelines.
  5. Click OK.
The new String name displays in the list on the left panel, and the Properties panel on the right displays the property sheet for the new String object.
  6. In the Properties panel, click Design.
  7. Optionally, modify the String Value as you want it to appear when the string object is used.
  8. Optionally (but recommended), add a Description of the string object.
This description should indicate what the string object is intended to be used for. This helps you and others (such as translators) to know how to use (or translate) the string object correctly.
  9. Click OK.
The system adds the new string object to the Strings table. It can now be used as any other string global object.
