Designing for low-sighted users

These recommendations can help low-sighted users use the Mongoose web client:

• Provide good contrast between backgrounds and foregrounds when choosing your color scheme.
• Choose colors that do not create eye strain.
• Use an adequate font size. Font size of 12pt or greater is ideal, and avoid using smaller than 10pt.
• Avoid the use of ALL CAPS. It can be difficult to read and screen readers can incorrectly interpret it.
• Line lengths that are too long or too short can be difficult to read.
• Hyperlinks should visually stand out from regular text.
