Contained Components
Use this dialog box in the Web Designer to add, configure, and delete components within a container component. This dialog box is accessed by clicking the button in the upper left corner of these container components while in the Web Designer:
- Notebooks
- Grids
- Vertical Grids
For FlexLayout components, this dialog box is accessed by clicking the button in the upper left corner of the FlexLayout component, and then clicking the button in the FlexLayout dialog box.
This dialog box consists of two basic sections:
- The left side contains:
- The Items column, which
displays the list of the contained components currently defined for the
container.
For example, if this dialog box is accessed from a grid, the list displays, in order, all the columns currently defined for the grid.
- The Sequence column, which displays the sequence number of the contained components.

the bottom:
Control Description/Comments button (+ icon) Adds a contained component to the list Note: This button is disabled when this dialog box is accessed from a FlexLayout component.button (trash can icon) Deletes the selected component from the list button (up arrow icon) Moves the selected component up in the list button (down arrow icon) Moves the selected component down in the list
- The Items column, which
displays the list of the contained components currently defined for the
container.
- The right side displays the component Properties sheet for a selected contained component. (Initially, it is blank.) This sheet is identical to its counterpart in the main Web Designer display. You can configure the component in either place and the results are the same.
