Creating and Formatting Graphs from a Collection

Note:  This topic applies to the graphing tool, which is supported for backward compatibility.  We recommend, if you want to add charts or gauges to a form, that you use the newer FusionCharts tool instead.

There are at least two ways you can redisplay data from a collection of records using a graph format:

  • If you have copied the data to a spreadsheet, you can use the graphing capabilities of the spreadsheet program.

See the documentation for your spreadsheet application.

  • You can redisplay the data in graph format within the system, using the built-in graphing capabilities.

To create a graph using the system graphing capabilities, you identify what information is to be used to construct the graph and what type of graph is to be drawn, such as a bar graph or a line graph.

See Creating a Graph (Pre-Fusion Charts).

After the graph is displayed, you can adjust it, including changing the information included, changing the type of graph, and adjusting the labels.

See Editing or Reformatting a Graph (Pre-Fusion Charts).

When you're satisfied with the online display, you can handle the results by saving, copying, or printing the graph.

See Handling the Graph Results (Pre-Fusion Charts).
