Setting Up a Quote Template

  1. Set up the quote section ID codes.
  2. Open the Quote Templates form.
  3. Specify an ID and description for the new template.
  4. Optionally, select an Output Format Definition. These are maintained on the Background Task Definitions form. If your company wants to use its own forms, using an alternate background task definition gives you the ability to link the configurable quote sections and data in the application to their output.
  5. In the grid, select a Section ID for each sequence line that you add to the template. The fields are populated based on the selections on the Quote Section Codes form and can be customized as needed for this quote template.
  6. Notes are displayed by default from the Quote Section Codes form. Optionally, specify any changes to the notes in the text box.
  7. Save the record.
  8. Optionally, click Preview to view a sample output report with all of the quote sections.
