Maintaining Commissions

  1. On the Commissions Due form, select Actions > New.
  2. Specify this information:
    Salesperson
    Select the salesperson's identification code who completed the order.
    Due Date
    The current date is displayed. This field can be overwritten for the Commissions Due records that are not yet Complete.
    Reference Type
    The reference type is displayed from the invoice.
    Reference Number
    The order number or contract number is displayed from the invoice.
    Invoice
    Select the number of the invoice for which the commission is calculated.
    Invoice Commission Base
    The total amount of the invoice less freight, taxes, miscellaneous charges, and discount is displayed. The system uses this amount as the base for calculating commission.
    Salesperson Commission Base
    Specify the amount of an invoice you want to use as a base for calculating the commission of the salesperson.
  3. Specify this information related to the salesperson:
    (Salesperson Name)
    The name of the current salesperson is displayed.
    Invoice Commission Amount
    Enter the total amount of commission (salesperson or sales manager) to be paid for the invoice.
    Commission Earned
    Specify the total amount of commission that the salesperson is to receive to date.
    Commission Paid
    The total commission already paid to the salesperson is displayed.
    Invoice Commission Balance
    The Commission amount minus the commission paid for the entire invoice is displayed.
    Payment Due
    The difference between commission earned and commission paid is displayed. This amount is the commission due to the salesperson for this invoice.
    Sales Tax
    Specify the amount the salesperson is taxed.
    Status
    Select Pay to make this invoice active for the generation of the commission payment through A/P or Payroll. Select Hold to make this invoice inactive for commission payment. Select Complete to designate that commissions have been paid on this invoice.
    Last Pay Date
    The last date commission was paid on this invoice is displayed.
    Check Number
    The check number for this commission is displayed.
  4. Save the record.

Because the system does not delete Commissions Due records when the commissions are paid, you can delete them manually. However, you can only delete records with a status of Complete.

  • Invoice commission amount
  • Commission earned
  • Commission paid
  • Invoice commission balance
  • Payment due
  • Status
  • Last pay date
  • Check number
