Use Existing Serials

On the Inventory Parameters form, select the Use Existing Serials field if you want inventory transactions at a local site to use the existing serial numbers from the remote site. You can override this value for specific transactions.

On the Serial Numbers tab of the Combined Transfer Order Ship/Receive, Multi-Site Quantity Move, and Transfer Order Receive forms, select the Use Existing Serials field to use the existing serial numbers from the remote site for this transaction.

This field is enabled only when the transaction's item is serial-tracked at the remote site and serial numbers are specified.

If this field is selected, any serial numbers entered or selected at the local site for this transaction will be valid if:

• The serial numbers do not exist at the remote site, or
• The serial numbers exist for the item and have a status of O (out of inventory) or N (not used or posted).
