Creating CRM Opportunities for Ending Contracts

  1. Open the Opportunity Creation Utility.
  2. Select Create Opportunities for Ending Contracts.
  3. Specify the number of days in the future that the utility should look for contracts that are ending.
  4. In the Name field, specify the name to use in the Opportunity Name field on the Opportunities form for any opportunities that are created.
  5. Select the range of items, contracts, customers, and units to use to filter which units and/or contracts are evaluated for potential opportunity creation.
  6. In the Lead Source field, select the value to use for any newly created opportunities.
  7. In the Opportunity Stage field, select the value to use for any newly created opportunities.
  8. Optionally, select Preview and click Process to populate the grid with any opportunities that will be created.
  9. Select Commit and click Process. If any contract lines with an end date within the defined date range are found, then an opportunity is created for the customer on the contract. New opportunity lines are created for each of the applicable contract lines.
Note:  NOTE: If the contract is a fixed price contract, the end date from the contract header should be evaluated (not the end date on the contract line) and all open contract lines should be placed on the opportunity.
