Posting A/R Payments

  1. Open the A/R Payment Posting form or A/R Wire Posting form.
  2. For these fields, select the range of values to include in the post:
    • Customer
    • Bank Code
    • Receipt Date
    • Check Number (A/R Payment Posting form)
    • Wire Number (A/R Wire Posting form)
    • Credit Memo
  3. Select Increment Date to place the report on the Background Queue and automatically re-run the payment posting. See the topic on setting an increment date for more information.
  4. Select Display Report Header to include report headers in the output.
  5. The Print option is automatically selected. You must first print the A/R Payment Transaction Report to review and verify the transactions that will be posted.
  6. To produce the report, select Process.

After reviewing the report, you can post the transactions. Notice that the Commit option is now enabled.

  7. Select the Commit option.
  8. To post the payments, select Process.

Transactions containing errors are not posted. If a transaction contains errors, correct them, and then try again to post.

Note: The Accounts Receivable account must be assigned on the Accounts tab on the Accounts Receivable Parameters form; otherwise, an error message is displayed and the posting process stops.
