About Feature Management

Feature Management allows certain installed features to be left inactive until you have tested them and are ready to implement them into your production environment. You can also use Feature Management to activate authorized pre-release features if you are a beta testing customer.

Feature types

Features are described as disruptive and non-disruptive. Non-disruptive features are automatically enabled for your system. Disruptive features are improvements to the system that may require training or an understanding of new functionality. You can enable these disruptive features when you are ready to use them in your production environment.

Note: Disruptive features are automatically enabled after the Validate By date that is set on the Feature Management form.

Feature Management form

On the Feature Management form, the Available Features and Pre-release Features tabs are used to activate features. The read-only Activated Features tab shows information about each activated feature. The read-only Feature Details section provides a brief overview of the selected feature.

Pre-release features can only be activated for beta customers after a pre-release key has been applied. Contact your Infor Support representative for more information.

Caution:
Once activated, features cannot be deactivated. Pre-release features should not be activated in a production environment.
