Defining a new custom project
Custom projects can be created to use ERP types other than Lawson, SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft and Infor as follows:
- type in the Library by selecting Add New ERP type window and defining the back-end.
- Define a connection to the new ERP.
- On the menu, click or click the icon . The New Project window is displayed.
- Provide a name to identify the project.
- Provide a description for the project.
- Provide the name of the customer for whom the Insight is created.
- The latest installed Insight version will be automatically populated into the Insight Version field.
- Select the ERP type - Select the new ERP type created for the custom project.
- The GUID number for the new Insight is automatically populated in the GUID field.
- Provide a name for the Insight.
- Provide a friendly name for the Insight.
- Provide the Insight FQN Prefix.
- From the ERP Connection drop-down list, select the connection to connect to the source ERP. Selecting a connection is not mandatory at this stage, but users will need to associate a connection with the project before they can add tables from the source ERP into the project. Connections can be associated at a later date by clicking Project->Properties and specifying the name of the required connection.
