Create a connection for SAP
Create a connection for SAP as follows:
- From the Select Application Type drop-down list, select the application to be extracted.

Select the required Insight from the drop-down list. Insights must
be installed first on the IRC Portable Data Extractor before they can be viewed
in the drop-down list.
Note: To extract data from SAP SRM, SAP CRM, SAP SCM or SAP BW, select Authorizations Insight for SAP from the drop-down list.
- Provide the connection information to be used by the adapter. Unless the connection information is correct, connection creation will fail and an error message will be displayed.

Click Next to save your changes and go to the next screen.
The connection parameters for SAP are as follows:
FIELD DESCRIPTION Connection Name Provide a user-defined connection name.
Connection Mode SAP uses logon groups for load balancing. If you want to create a connection with logon groups, the IRC Portable Data Extractor provides additional parameters to specify logon group details.
If the option Connect with Logon Group is selected, the following fields are enabled:
- Logon Group
- System ID
- Message Server Host
Note: Before selecting the option Connect with Logon Group , ensure that the port entry for the SAP message server is available in the services file at the location [OSInstall Drive]\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\If the port entry does not exist in the file, then:
- Open the
services file using Notepad and add the following entry at the end of the
file:
sapms[SystemID] [PortNumber]/[Protocol]
For example,
sapmsE6T 3900/tcp
System Number Provide the system number. For example, 50.
Note: This field will be disabled if the option Connect with Logon Group is selectedClient Provide the client number, for example 500.
Server Host Name Provide the name of the machine or server where the SAP application is installed.
Note: This field will be disabled if the option Connect with Logon Group is selected.Logon Group Specify the name of the logon group.
Note: This field will be disabled if the option Connect without Logon Group is selected.System ID Provide the system identification number of the message server host.
Note: This field will be disabled if the option Connect without Logon Group is selected.Message Server Host Provide the message server host name. The message server is a dedicated server for load balancing and automatically assigns users to the application server with the least workload of the logon group it controls.
Note: This field will be disabled if the option Connect without Logon Group is selected.SAP Application Type From the drop-down list, select the required application type. This information will be displayed on the IRC UI when the
.beu
file is uploaded during connection creation.Language Select the language for data extraction.
