Selecting the Extraction Type

This screen gives you four options to enable you to select what type of extraction to perform:

Extract Using IRC Programs: This type of extraction uses the Dynamic Extraction Engine (DEE) to extract data. This type of extraction is used for all Insights.
Extract Without IRC Programs (or Extract with ERP programs): This type of extraction uses RFC calls. Use this extraction type for Authorizations Insight for SAP R/3, SAP SRM, SAP CRM, SAP SCM and SAP BW/BI.
Get Object Count: Select this option to generate an object count report as the next step in the wizard. Unless this option is selected, extraction will not begin when you click Next . This feature is supported for Authorizations Insights and Process Insights for SAP only.
Schedule this Extraction : Select this option to schedule extraction through Windows Scheduled Tasks. When you click Next , the IRC Portable Data Extractor displays a message containing the path that you need to provide in the Run text box.

Note: If you launch the IRC Portable Data Extractor through the IRC Portable Data Scheduler, you need to create a schedule in the IRC Portable Data Scheduler using the .beu project configured in the IRC Portable Data Extractor as displayed in point 2 of the message.
