Creating a connection for Lawson

Note: Before creating a connection for Lawson ensure that Lawson Distributed Single Sign-on (DSSO) is configured on the server where IRC PDE 10.1 is installed. For instructions on installing DSSO, refer to the Lawson Distributed Single Sign-On Solution Installation Guide. For instructions on installing the IRC PDE or installing Insights on the IRC PDE, refer to the IRC Portable Data Extractor 10.1 Installation Guide.

Create a connection to the Lawson ERP as follows. The user account creating the connection and extracting data should have table-level read access on the Lawson Product Line - APPS database.

  1. From the Select Application Type drop-down list, select the application to be extracted.
  2. From the Insights drop-down list, select the Lawson Insight. Insights must first be installed on the IRC Portable Data Extractor before they can be viewed in the drop-down list.
  3. Provide the connection information to be used by the adapter. Unless the connection information is correct, connection creation will fail and an error message will be displayed.
  4. Click Next to save your changes and go to the next screen.

Provide the following information to create a connection for the Lawson ERP systems:

FIELD ACTION
Connection Name Provide a unique name for the connection.
Description Provide a description for this connection.
Server Name

This must match the name provided in the field The network accessible address of the Lawson Distributed SSO Server (this machine) while configuring the Lawson Distributed SSO. Locate this name as follows:

  1. Log into the Lawson WebSphere Integrated Solutions Console.
  2. On the left hand menu, select
  3. Use the Host Name of the active server as the server name in this field.

Suffix this server name with Bootstrap Port number of the Websphere on which the Lawson Portal is configured. The port number is mandatory and should be provided even if it is the default port number. Locate the Bootstrap Port number as follows:

  1. Log into the Lawson WebSphere Integrated Solutions Console.
  2. On the left hand menu, select Servers > Server Types > WebSphere application servers. .
  3. Drill down into the active server name.
  4. Go to Communications > Ports.

    Note the BOOTSTRAP_ADDRESS and suffix it to the server name in the format SERVERNAME:PORT NUMBER.

Server Display Name

Locate the server display name that is displayed on the Applications Server page in Lawson as follows:

  1. Log into the Lawson WebSphere Integrated Solutions Console.
  2. On the left hand menu, select Servers > Server Types > WebSphere application servers. .
  3. Use the name of the active server as the server display name.
Service Name

This name should exactly match the name given in the field The name you want to give to the OS service while configuring OS Services and Identities. Locate this name as follows:

  1. Go to [Install Path]\law\system.
  2. Open up lsservice.properties.
  3. Search for server.servicename and copy its value in the Service Name field.
Run for Service Name

Locate this name as follows:

  1. Go to [Install Path]\law\system.
  2. Open up lsservice.properties.
  3. Search for remoteserver.servicename and copy its value in the Run for Service Name field.
Actor Name The name specified here should match the name provided in the field The existing Lawson RMID for which you want to create the OS identity using the above user while configuring OS Services and Identities.
Server Node Name

This is the name displayed in the Node column on the Applications Server page in the Lawson ERP. Locate this name as follows:

  1. Log into the Lawson WebSphere Integrated Solutions Console.
  2. On the left hand menu, select Servers > Server Types > WebSphere application servers.
  3. Use the name displayed in the Node column.
Product Line

Provide the name of the application database on the Lawson ERP that the user wants to connect to, to extract process data.

  1. Connect to the Lawson backend database.
  2. Go to Databases.
  3. Use application database name in the format 'APPS<ERP Version no>' .
DSSO Install Path Specify the path selected for the base directory for the Lawson Distributed SSO install. The default DSSO install path is C:\DSSO.
