Creating an offline connection

If data is extracted remotely using the Portable Data Extractor, or through the script-based or the codeless extraction, the extracted data must be uploaded into the IRC application. This data is than re-extracted and analyzed in the IRC application. In such cases, you require an offline or imported connection.

Connection security applies to the imported connections also. Users assigned the Administrator, System Manager, Connection Manager or a custom role having access to the Connections link can access this page, modify the imported connections and create new connections.

To create an offline connection:

  1. On the Connections page, click Import to display a list of ERP applications. Select the required ERP application to display the ERP: Import Connection page.
  2. In the Project field, click Browse to locate one of these files:
    • A .beu project file generated by the Portable Data Extractor.
    • An .xml file if data extraction is codeless or script-based.
    • A .zip file, containing the .beu file generated by the Portable Data Extractor.
Note: If you are using a Chrome browser to access the IRC application, you must manually enter the offline file path in the Project field.
  3. Click the Upload icon. The system uploads the file and populates the remaining fields on the screen with the connection details. The connection details vary, based on the ERP application selected.
Note: The user account accessing the .beu file must have the necessary permissions to read the files generated by the Portable Data Extractor.
  4. Select whether this connection must be secured.
  5. Select whether users extracted from this connection must be mapped.
  6. Select Map Connection Users (Participation in Cross Connection Analysis) to map users extracted from the connection to a single IRC profile.
  7. Select Do not map Connection Users (No Participation in Cross Connection Analysis) to create independent user profiles.
  8. Click Save. The new connection appears on the Connections page in the respective ERP panel. You can now schedule an extraction through the connection.
Note: Click the Enable Notification icon to notify users via email about the events relevant to this task.
