Users
Users can be created, managed or removed using the User Management page. This page can be accessed from the link in the main menu. User with Administrator role can access this page.
Adding users
Before adding a user, you must know the type of authentication, the application users require. These are the authentication types:
- Active Directory: The information required to add a new user includes, the user’s password, email address, account expiration and manager details.
- IRC Application Security: The information required to create the account includes, the user ID, password and email address. Additional information such as manager and account expiration date can also be specified, at this time.
When you add a new user, you must add a role or multiple roles that is applicable to the tasks the user performs. The roles assigned to the user determine the level of access to the application.
Use the Ownership tab to set the user access to specific connections and rule content inclusive of rulebooks and parameter lists.
See the Secured connection topic.
As user data is extracted from an ERP application, you can link the user accounts created in IRC to the user IDs in the ERP application using the mapping application users option. By default, users extracted from Active Directory are mapped. However, if the Authentication scheme is Infor Risk & Compliance Application Security, users are not mapped during an extraction, unless the mapping application users option is selected during user creation.
Importing users
Users can also be imported into IRC using a .txt file, as an alternate to adding the users manually one at a time. On successful import, the users are displayed on the User Management page. These users are mapped automatically and can log on to the application. The format of the .txt file differs depending on the authentication scheme used.
Disabling, enabling and deleting users
To temporarily block access to the application, you can disable a user. Disabled users cannot sign in to the application. A user who is locked out of the application for using the wrong password too many times, is automatically disabled. The user and must be enabled by an administrator.
Users can also be deleted from the User Management page. All users can be deleted, except the original Administrator account created during the install.
