Backing up the database

  1. On the Start menu, point to Programs Microsoft SQL Server and click SQL Server Management Studio.
  2. Rights click IRC database TasksBackup. The Back Up Database screen is displayed.
  3. Select the database to be backed up.
  4. Specify a name and a description for the database backup.
  5. In the Destination section, click Add.
  6. Provide a destination for the backup or click Browse.
  7. Specify how you want your database to be backed up:
    • File name: Click to select a location or file on your server for taking the backup.
    • Backup device: Click to select an external device for taking the backup.
  8. Click OK.
