Importing a Rule Book
The import feature is useful if you want to share rule books with other users or if you want to use your rule books on other Infor Risk & Compliance servers.
Note: Rules from a rule book will not be imported if the Insight for
which the rules are created is not installed and activated on your system. Only
the rule book, without its rule is imported.
To import a rule book:
- Click the More Actions icon and click Import. The Import Rule Books window is displayed.
- Click Browse to locate for and select the file (.zip or .xml) to be imported.
- Click the Upload icon to upload the imported file. The system displays rule book and rule import options.
- Provide a name for the action to help you track this task on the Tasks or on the Import/Export page.
- Select the Import All Rule Books check box to import all the rule books contained in the imported file (.zip or .xml) .
- On the Import File Content panel, you can select specific rule books from the imported file. The search filters on this panel enable you to search for a specific rule book. Select the check box next to the rule book to be imported.
- Select a rule book import option as described in the rule book import options below.
- The Rule Import Options will be enabled if you select the rule book import options Keep Existing or Overwrite from Import File. Select a rule import option as described in the rule import options below.

Note:
- All options for rules will work only if the signed-in user is the rule book owner (RBO) or the business process owner (BPO).
- If you import rule books containing attached parameters, ensure that these parameters are present in Infor Risk & Compliance. If they are not, then you must create or import the parameters before you import the rule books. Parameters are not automatically imported with rule books.
- Process Insight rules should have Primary Violating Object selected in their rule condition. Else, the status of such rules will show as Expired after the import.
Rule book import options
OPTIONS If a rule book with the same name exists in the application Rule book with the same name does not exist in the application Create Copy The rule book will be imported into Infor Risk & Compliance and will be given the name Rule book name-copy(1)*. The rule book from the import file will be imported into Infor Risk & Compliance. Keep Existing The rule book present Infor Risk & Compliance is retained. Import will not perform any operation. The rule book from the import file will be imported into Infor Risk & Compliance. Overwrite from Import File The rule book from the import file will overwrite the rule book already present in Infor Risk & Compliance. The rule book from the import file will be imported into Infor Risk & Compliance. Rule import options
Scenario - Importing a rule book with rules R1 and R2 :
OPTIONS Rule book exists in Infor Risk & Compliance with the rules R1, R2, and R3 Rule book exists in Infor Risk & Compliance with rules R1 and R2, but not R3 Create Copy The rule book in Infor Risk & Compliance will retain the existing rules. Additionally, R1, R2, from the import file will be imported to the rule book as copies with the names R1-Copy(1) and, R2-Copy(1). R1 and R2 from the import file will be imported to RB1 as copies with the names R1-Copy(1) and R2-Copy(1). Keep Existing The existing rules will be retained. No import will be carried out. The existing rules will be retained. No import will be carried out. Overwrite from Import File Only R1 and R2 present in Infor Risk & Compliance will be overwritten by R1, R2 from the import file. R3 will remain as is. R1 and R2 present in Infor Risk & Compliance will be overwritten by R1 and R2 from the import file. Replace with Import File R1 and R2 present in Infor Risk & Compliance will be overwritten by R1 and R2 from the import file. R3 will be deleted. All exceptions and violations with respect to R3 will be closed. The deleted rule details are displayed in the Audit Report. For details, refer to Infor Risk & Compliance Reports. R1 and R2 present in Infor Risk & Compliance will be overwritten by R1 and R2 from the import file.
