Actions

You can take these actions on the Baseline page:

  • Creating a baseline category

    Creating a baseline category means selecting the list of objects to be baselined from a specific Insight. Each object corresponds to a table. If objects have sub-categories or child objects these are displayed after the root object is selected. Sub-categories may or may not be selected for baselining. Create a baseline category as follows:

    1. Click the Add icon. The system displays the Browse Baseline Categories window displaying the root objects available for each installed Insight.
    2. From the search drop-list list select the desired Insight. The page displays the categories (root objects) for the Insight selected.
    3. Select the desired category:
      • If the category selected contains sub-categories or child objects, a panel containing the sub-categories is displayed. Select the sub-categories required and click Select Baseline. If no sub-categories are required, simply click Select Baseline. The selected sub-categories will appear as enabled on the Selected Baseline Categories panel as well as on the Baseline home page. If no sub-categories are selected, the root object selected will appear on the Selected Baseline Categories panel.
      • If the category selected does not contain sub-categories, it is directly added to the panel Selected Baseline Categories.
    4. Click Add Baseline. The selected category is added to the Baseline page.
  • Take a baseline snapshot

    Take a baseline snapshot as follows:

    1. Select the check box next to the category required.
    2. Click the Snapshot icon. The application displays a message saying the task will be queued on the Tasks page.
    3. Refresh the page to view the status of the snapshot.

      After the task is complete, it is displayed on this page. The Last Baseline Snapshot Date column displays the time when the snapshot was taken. This time is according to the local time zone defined on the Preferences page.

  • Generate a report

    Click the Generate Report icon to view the Audit report with appropriate filters for baseline tasks.

  • Delete a baseline category

    To delete a baseline category, select the check box next to the category and click the Delete icon.
