Passwords can be reset in either of the following modes:
- Manual mode
By default, the setting is always manual. The setting can be configured through the ResetPasswordConfiguration.xml file by changing the value of the tag AutoGeneratePassword.
The default value of the tag is 0 for manual generation . Change the value to 1 for automatic generation.
- Auto generate mode
If auto generate is configured, the system generates a random password automatically. Password policies are not applicable for auto-generated passwords.
The default setting is always manual. This setting can be configured through the ResetPasswordConfiguration.xml file as described in the SAP - Configuration Settings Guide.
Note: For clients managed by CUA, the password change must be made locally on these clients. The password cannot be reset centrally.Note:- The Reset SAP Password link is displayed on the User Interface and the feature is installed while installing the Infor Risk & Compliance services. Reset password as follows:
- Select the check box next to the name of the user whose password is to be reset.
- Click
- If reset password is set to automatic through the User Creation Options on the Configuration page, the system generates a random password automatically and a confirmation message is displayed.
- If the reset password is set to manual through the User Creation Options on the Configuration page, a pop-up window is displayed.
- For reset password in the manual mode, provide the new password in the New Password text box and the Confirm Password text box and click . The password provided must be according to the password policy set through the option Generate Password automatically ( ) panel on the Configuration page. A confirmation message is displayed.

Users
Users who are locked out of SAP because of invalid password attempts, can use this page to unlock themselves. The locked status of a user is checked against current SAP data extracted using the DEE. Once the password has been reset, the User Interface displays the message 'Password reset and unlock is successful'.
Note: If users are locked out of SAP due to any reason other than invalid password attempts, the users will not be unlocked and the Reset Password User Interface will display the message 'Password reset successful without unlocking'.
